Taryne Jakobi Shares Her Sweet-themed, Pink Christmas Table and Craft Projects

For Good TimesStylist Taryne Jakobi, who wrote the recipes in For Good Times by Julie Gallagher, has shared three blog posts on her Christmas theme for this year. Choosing to use sweets and the colour pink as her inspiration, Jakobi has shared photographs of the various crafts and DIY projects she has incorporated into her Christmas table.

From spraypainted plastic animals to wreaths made from popcorns and sweets, Jakobi has created a pink wonderland for the festive season:

Such as “I won’t feed my child sweets and I won’t dress her only in pink” welllll, errr, um, I’m now eating my sugar coated pretty pink words aren’t I ?
Ah well, I’m a parent now, and it’s my prerogative to change my mind. So this year our Christmas table, tree, decorations , and pressies, as ALL sweet themed and pink!

The irony of my Christmas table sweet-fest is that I don’t have a particularly “sweet tooth”. I love a really good mince pie ( recipe to follow in another post ) or a very good Christmas cake. I’m not that bothered about the sweet stuff I would rather have a delicious cheeseboard. I was playing around with ideas for this years Christmas theme and following on from my kiddie friendly tree, I thought what would be more fun for a kid than a table filled with sweet stuff?

Sweetie wreath, pink popcorn wreath, Turkish Delight and white chocolate “fudge” , White chocolate and cherry Rocky Road wreath, peppermint bark with gold leaf, mini mince pies, Christmas cake, and ohhh sooo much sugar!
